About This Satellite
The James Webb Space Telescope is NASA's flagship infrared observatory, launched in December 2021. Positioned at the Sun-Earth L2 point about 1.5 million km from Earth, its 6.5-metre gold-coated mirror peers through dust to study the first galaxies, stellar nurseries, and exoplanet atmospheres.

James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a cataloged satellite tracked under NORAD ID 50463 with international designator 21130A. According to the GCAT master catalog, it was built by NGAS/GSFC, on the JWST platform, with a launch mass of about 6161 kg, with a shape described as Box+dish+panels. Its current orbital elements are not well described by simple Keplerian geometry. Positions on this page are near-real-time SGP4 predictions propagated from the latest two-line element (TLE) data.
